What the Integration Does

 Axis offers an Epic-integrated patient observation and remote monitoring solution that embeds Axis video and audio workflows into Epic Monitor and Epic ECAL, enabling clinicians to manage tele-sitting, tele-ICU, and virtual observation from within Epic’s interface.
 

• Epic Monitor + ECAL integration: Axis Camera Station (VMS) is embedded in Epic Monitor using Epic ECAL (Embedded Context Aware Linking) so clinicians launch and control in-room cameras from Epic without switching systems.
• Bedside observation workflows: From Epic, staff can assign cameras to patients, view single or multi‑patient video, control pan/tilt/zoom, and use two‑way audio for virtual rounding, tele-sitting, and tele‑ICU.
• Context-aware linking to patients: Device assignment and camera views are tied to the current patient/room in Epic, reducing manual lookups and mis-assignment risk.

• Improve safety and reduce falls/1:1 costs: Tele-sitting and virtual observation allow one clinician to monitor multiple at‑risk patients, lowering sitter labor costs while maintaining safety.​
